Disaster America did a great job on the renovation of a water emergency I had in April… but:Fast forward to late June… The renovation/restoration was finally done: $72 THOUSAND DOLLARS later and 2 bedrooms, hall, bathroom, and 1/4 of the living room dried out and replaced by Disaster America USA.Now… 6 weeks ago (mid July) we started noticing a “buckle” in the floor right inside the front door (about 4 ft from where they deemed was the end of the water damage). 3 weeks ago the buckle had started protruding through the brand new LVP that they put down and it spread down a line toward where they had finished the underfloor remodel. By Thursday it had gotten so bad we couldn’t open the door all the way.Now… when the LVP broke and boards started coming through I called to speak with Jason at Disaster America and he text me and told me to email him the pics and he’d get back to me… I’ve yet to hear back from anyone. I also called and spoke with Sam who was the foreman of the construction company they used and sent him pics of it. He actually said they’d be here Friday to take a look at it and never showed up and I haven’t been able to contact him again either. *Though Sam did tell me he figured the foundation under the old floor had failed and he was sure that was the problem 🙄 Of note- the foundation was repaired less than a year ago and I have the warranty*So on Friday… With some help, I started ripping up the floor to see what the problem was because obviously it was my problem and no one was going to get back with me on this. It wasn’t the foundation… the hardwood subfloor had buckled because the water obviously went further than they thought {as I’d thought, and even asked them to go further when they were ripping it up and they declined and said they KNEW it wasn’t damaged out that far}.So, enjoy some pics of my Labor Day Weekend as this $1.74 disaster continues to cost me THOUSANDS of dollars to fix still, after it was already “fixed” to the tune of $72,000!
